"The Grandfather" My Tree Trunk Paragraph

Like the narrator in “The Grandfather” by Gary Soto, I am the same but different. I am the same in this one way and that is by, my family was small but now it is bigger then ever. The differences is that my family makes me stronger by, the way think that I will not go any were in my life. them saying that makes me determined to do my best to get some were In my life.I consider my family my motivation to do better then what they think and so I do not end up like my birth father.These people are my family because they are blood and that is it.They give me strength by not being there for me and not trying to help me out in any way.An example of a time when I depended on them was when I got stopped at the border and they did not come to pic me up because I did not have my pass port on me.A tree symbolizes family because first comes the seed then it grows to be big,as so dose the family will grow to be big.

Winter Break

It was about 8:00 when I got up. After i got up i went to brunch and had as fest whit my staff ans some of my house mates. I ate all sorts of stuff like,eggs, bacon, crab,pork,and oysters. After brunch I went to a friend's house for the day, we watch about two movies.After I watch the movies I was call home to cook the turkey. I had to butter it season it and put it in the oven. After about two hours i was call back home to tack off the tin foal and butter the skin so it can have nice Golden skin. After two more hours of cooking the turkey was ready and then it was time for diner. My staff and I set the table and got ready for diner.After that every one that did not go on pass in our house sat down. we let waldo bless the food and then I caved the turkey.

What is the most symbolic item to the grand father is the avocado tree.The tree represents hope and prosperity for the future. The tree represent growth and strength to the narrator , “as the boy grows so does the tree”. The tree represent the growth in numbers for the grandfathers family. trees are like family's are first comes the grandfather then the tree will drop seeds and the family will grow, “the wind could move the branches, but the trunk, thicker than any waist, hugged the ground”.Pg361

important person

My adopted father is the important person in my life. A dog symbolises my adopted father. A dog symbolises him by, that he doe’s not gauge me when I tell him when I do something that is not very smart and hat could of got me in to trouble. He is also like a dog in a way that would help me he protected me, he leaded me to go to right way.My adopted father would appreciate that i thought of him like this.

Important Person

My adopted father is a important person in my life. He is very understanding when I do something that is not smart or when I am going through something. He is also my friend and the person that I think of as my father. The reason why he is important to me is that he was always there for me and never gave up on me. Right now he is one of the only people that visits me even though he lives in Washington. The next time I see him I will be river rafting down the Grand Canyon with him.

The football symbolizes our house which is boys 4. The football symbolizes our house because most of our house plays football. To most people, this item is just a ball you just play a game with for us it’s our life. To us, it represents our hard work and time that we spent during practice and games that we played because it is one the ways we get rid of our extra energy .In our house hard work pays off when someone completes what needs to be achieved.

3rd Quarter Goals

In 2010, I played football. I was able to achieve this goal by not quitting. I had to stop smoking weed in order to play. I have been clean since, because it messed up my lungs. I’ve learned that I need to work out more because my lungs are still messed up. I am proud of myself. I will get a lettermen jacket for participation for this football season.



My goal for this quarter is to get a job and work all quarter. I want to make money.

I just have to give Jonelle all of my grades and show here that I do not have any F’s.

I have to work 120 hours to get a new job in the Dragons Lounge.

I need to keep my grades up so I don’t lose my job. I will do my homework.
